I am a hopelessly romantic realist;
a natural extremist
who makes moderation a habit;
a fool who finds wisdom
every once in a while.
I am a spineless supporter of the weak,
who veils weakness
with the valor of a nom de plume;
a stoic whose cold character collapses
every once in a while.
I am a modest braggart;
a fervent narcissist
who’s humble when he's right;
a righteous citizen who does wrong
every once in a while.
I am a perfect human.
Very nice plays with words although I'd argue the last line should say perfectly human instead of a perfect human -- of course we are all perfect humans and many in ways that are not so felicitous as those listed in the poem. Have I lost you?
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog yesterday, getting older gets a bad rap, sometimes it's wonderful thing.
To be imperfect is human. Being imperfect we are being a perfect human. It's the way I interpret(and agree with) your controversial conclusion.
ReplyDeleteI see you have installed a feedburner to your blog. But I was hoping you could get one of those email subscription boxed feedburner providers. Check your menu in the publicize section. For an example of how it would look like, you could have a look at my blog's right menu.
Anyway, I like your repeated use of Latin phrases. It makes the verses more poetic and, once again, intriguing.
